This work is part of an ongoing effort of the Civic Hall Health Lab, which supports public interest organizations in using technology to address system-level barriers in building a strong culture of health.

Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the lab hosted a series of collaborative workshops and leadership convening to foster cross-sector dialogue to address health challenges in New York City.

"Public Health / Housing Data" Workshop & Outcomes

"Public Health / Housing Data" Workshop & Outcomes

A two-day workshop explored the idea of creating a new housing rights data tool, bringing together ten different open-data source related housing issues to help daylight issues, such as asthma rates, infant mortality, etc.. across the city’s housing models creating awareness at a more systemwide actionable level. The team worked on a number of journey maps that outlined cross department overlaps leading to a group understanding of different stakeholder interests and consensus on where to target some problem commonalities in experience.

The resulting conversations and outputs led to cross sector explorations on how new technology could support housing lawyers, social workers, public healthcare support and identify at-risk tenants. This work is currently informing the Health Lab’s discovery phase process for this cross-sector product.
